Djúpavík
Djúpavík is tiny village in the east part of the Westfjords. Djúpavík is famous for its unique hotel and the fact that it's one of the most isolated place in Iceland.
The nearest town is Hólmavík, 70 km away. During the summer Djúpavík is a special tourist d
estination for people who appreciate the being alone with the forces of nature. The village consist of seven houses only, most of them belong to the hotel and the rest is an old Herring factory that is now closed.
The best way to get to Djúpavík is via road 643 or by plain via Gjögur Airport. There road to Djúpavík is unpaved after leaving the town of Hólmavík. The road is usually closed during the winter.
